The scheduling process

The process of scheduling a project is not a terribly complicated one. It will usually only require a few hours to prepare an adequate preliminary schedule for use by the bid team. The steps you need to follow and the order in which they are accomplished are as follows:

  1. List the activities to be included
  2. Determine the sequence in which they will be performed
  3. Determine preceding and succeeding activities for each
  4. Determine activity durations
  5. Enter this information into a network
  6. Distribute the information to subcontractors and the project team
